BOSTON, Mass. (April 29, 2026) – Emerson College junior Filippo Nocchi and sophomore Connor Leung have earned spots on the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Men's Tennis All-Conference Team, as selected by the Conference's eight head coaches, the league office announced.
Nocchi, a three-time NEWMAC Singles Athlete of the Week over the course of his career with two such honors this spring, has earned All-NEWMAC honors at both singles and doubles for Emerson, joining his playing partner Leung with a spot on the All-Conference team for doubles. It marks just the second season Emerson has placed student-athletes on the All-Conference team since joining the NEWMAC in 2013 and first since Bass Lin, '22 and Maximo Lawlor, '22 were both selected for singles play in 2019, giving the Lions four All-NEWMAC picks all-time. Nocchi, named Emerson's Male Student-Athlete of the Year at its Student-Athlete Recognition Dinner on Sunday night, posted a 17-4 record in singles play this season, including a 5-2 mark in NEWMAC matches. Nocchi, who earned NEWMAC Academic All-Conference honors as a sophomore, has posted a 34-16 career singles record, including 8-9 in NEWMAC play. He owns a career doubles record of 28-20, 8-9 in Conference play.
Nocchi and Leung combined to post a 14-5 record this season, including 5-2 in NEWMAC matches. The pairing earned NEWMAC Doubles Team of the Week honors twice this season on March 16 and April 21. Nocchi and Leung were also among a program-best four Lions that competed at the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Division III New England Regional Championships. The duo is a combined 24-14 for Emerson over the last two seasons, including 7-7 in NEWMAC play, having competed at No. 1 doubles for the Lions the last two seasons.
