BOSTON, Mass. (December 9, 2025) – Emerson College sophomore guard Jessie Silk has earned a spot on the New England Women's Basketball Association (NEWBA) Weekly Second Team after leading the Lions to split of its two non-conference matchups last week.
Silk earns her third weekly team recognition of the season from NEWBA with second team of the week accolades for the second time after being named to NEWBA's first team on November 19 when she was named the NEWMAC Offensive Player of the Week. She led Emerson with 19.5 points per game on 73.7-percent shooting (14-for-19), including 6-for-7 (85.7%) from three-point range, with a team-high 8.0 rebounds and 5.5 assists, while chipping in a steal and blocked shot. Silk paced the Lions 85-75 victory over Framingham State University on Saturday with a game-high 26 points on 10-of-12 shooting, draining all four three-point tries, six rebounds, a season-high seven assists and a steal. She notched her sixth double-double of the season at Emmanuel College on Thursday with 13 points, ten rebounds and four assists.
Silk ranks second among NEWMAC scoring leaders with her 19.3 points per game (33rd nationally), connecting on a Conference-high 55.6-percent (20-for-36) of her three-point attempts to rank second nationally as part of 47.4-percent shooting from the field overall to rank fourth in the NEWMAC. She ranks third in the NEWMAC with 11.1 rebounds (39th nationally) per game, including a NEWMAC best 9.8 defensive boards per game to rank seventh in Division III. Silk is also contributing 2.9 assists (13th NEWMAC) and 1.3 steals in 33.6 minutes (7th) per contest.
Silk is second in the NEWMAC and ranks ninth nationally with her six double-doubles. She has scored in double-figures in ten-straight games dating back to last season, giving her 24 double-digit scoring games for her career and reached double-digits in rebounds six times this year. She has been named to the All-Tournament team at both of Emerson's in-season events it has participated in this season at Wesleyan University and UMass Dartmouth.
Silk has started all 33 games she has played over her first two seasons at Emerson, averaging 13.0 points on 44.3-percent shooting, including 46.3% from three-point range, converting 73.2% of her free-throws. She has totaled 428 points, 234 rebounds, 113 assists and 39 steals for her career, having scored in double figures in 24 of her 33 career games, with ten-plus rebounds eight times. Silk has led the Lions in scoring seven times and the team posting a 6-1 mark in those contests.
Emerson (6-3, 0-0 NEWMAC) closes out its first semester schedule with a pair of midweek games this week, starting tonight when it crosses The Commons to visit Suffolk University at 7 p.m. The Lions return to Boylston Street on Thursday to host Salem State University at Bobbi Brown and Steven Plofker Gymnasium at 7 p.m.
