BOSTON, Mass. (December 11, 2025) – Emerson College closed out its first semester schedule with a third-straight win following a 68-57 decision over Salem State University in a women's basketball non-conference matchup on Hank Smith Court at Bobbi Brown and Steven Plofker Gymnasium tonight.
Senior Bri Frongillo fueled Emerson with a season-high 33 points on 11-of-25 shooting, including 7-for-13 from three-point distance, four rebounds three assists, two steals and a blocked shot. Junior Claire English contributed her third double-double of the season with ten points and a game-high 14 rebounds, three assists and a season-high matching four blocked shots. Classmate Kendra Dodd canned 4-of-8 three-pointers for 12 points for the Lions.
Senior Maria Orfanos totaled a team-high 14 points for Salem State with four rebounds, while junior Amayah McConney posted 13 points and four boards. Freshman Yamilette Guerrero grabbed 11 rebounds to go with seven points, seven assists and two steals for the Vikings.

Emerson made its first five shots of the game, including a trio of three-pointers from Frongillo while Dodd dialed up from long distance as well, to grab a ten-point lead (14-4) just 2:12 into the contest. Frongillo paced the Lions 47.4-percent shooting in the first quarter with 14 of their 23 points in the frame as she connected on 4-of-5 three-pointers as part of 5-for-7 shooting overall in the quarter.
Emerson carried that ten-point cushion (23-13) into the second and Salem State chipped back to within four (32-28) after a Guerrero layup 1:15 before halftime. The Lions carried a nine-point lead (37-28) into the intermission thanks to a long-range three from sophomore Jessie Silk at the buzzer.
English scored a putback and Frongillo buried a three as Emerson scored the first five points of the second half to open a 14-point lead (42-28). The Lions lead was still 14 (47-32) after a Dodd triple with 6:22 to go in the quarter, but the hosts would come up empty from the floor the remainder of the period.
Salem State took its first lead of the night (51-49) after two free-throws by junior Kylie Schrock to cap a 19-1 run to close out the third for the Vikings. Guerrero stretched the Vikings lead to three (52-49) by splitting two free-throws 2:17 into the fourth, but Dodd and Frongillo each connected from beyond the arc to put Emerson back in front (55-52) with 6:26 to play.
Emerson would not trail again, but its lead was still a single possession (60-57) after a McConney putback with two minutes still to play. The Lions closed out the win from there by scoring the final eight points of the night, including six by Frongillo who made all four free-throws in the last 22-seconds to seal it.

- Frongillo followed up her first 20-point outing of the season on Tuesday with her first 30-point game of the year, marking the sixth of her career for her 49th career double-digit scoring night.
- Frongillo has scored in double-figures in 20-straight games played dating back to last season.
- English scored in double digits for the fifth game this season (15th career) in notching her tenth career double-double.
- English collected double-digit rebounds for the 17th time in her career, while Silk snared ten-plus rebounds for the seventh time this season (ninth career).
- Dodd scored in double figures for the third time this season (19th career), netting three-plus three-pointers for the sixth time this year (23 career).
- Emerson held its second-straight opponent under 30-percent shooting, limiting Salem State to 28.4%, including 2-for-13 (15.4%) from three-point distance, with the Vikings making just 2-of-21 shots (9.5%) in the fourth quarter, while the Lions connected at 46.2% (6-13).
- Emerson outrebounded its eighth opponent through its first 11 games, finishing with a 50-46 edge, improving to 6-2 in those eight contests.
