BOSTON, Mass. (October 20, 2025) – Emerson College first-year forward Rowan McCrary has been named the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference Women's Soccer Offensive Athlete of the Week, presented by SKYBOKX 109, by the Conference office today.
McCrary had a hand in all three goals Emerson scored in a 2-0 week with two goals and an assist for five points over the two matches. She scored both Lion goals in Wednesday's 2-1 win over Smith College, marking the first multi-goal match of her collegiate career, netting both goals in the first 21 minutes of the contest for a lead they would not relinquish. McCrary opened the scoring 12:46 into the match, converting a cross from the right flank into the right side of the goal and then fired in her team-leading fourth goal of the season off her own rebound in the 21st minute. McCrary assisted on the Lions lone goal in Saturday's 1-0 triumph over Mount Holyoke College with a cross from the left side for sophomore Tatum Cohen's 80th minute winner.
McCrary has now played a role in four of Emerson's last six goals with two goals and two assists during the Lions current three match win streak. She has now taken over the Emerson scoring lead in her first collegiate season with 11 points, having netted a team-best four goals to go with three assists that rank second on the team. Her team-leading two gamewinning goals is tied for seventh among NEWMAC leaders.
Emerson is unbeaten through its first seven NEWMAC matches for the first time since joining the Conference in 2013, joining nationally ranked MIT as one of two remaining unbeatens in NEWMAC play this season. The Lions are second in the Conference with 17 points behind just MIT's 21 (7-0-0) heading into this week's play.
Emerson (7-3-4, 5-0-2 NEWMAC) is back in action with a pair of road matches this week, starting Wednesday at Worcester Polytechnic Institute at 6 p.m. The Lions visit Springfield College on Saturday at 6 p.m. Emerson's next home match is next Wednesday, October 29, when it hosts MIT on Rotch Field at 6 p.m.
