Women's Soccer Tops Mount Holyoke Late for Senior Day Win, 1-0

Cohen’s second goal of the season lifts Lions in 80th minute

BOSTON, Mass. (October 18, 2025) – Sophomore Tatum Cohen scored the lone goal in the 80th minute to lift Emerson College to a 1-0 victory over Mount Holyoke College in a New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) women's soccer matchup on Senior Day at Rotch Field this afternoon.

Cohen's match-winner is her second goal of the season and first since Emerson's season-opening win over Husson University to keep the Lions unbeaten run in NEWMAC play running at seven matches. She converted off a cross from the left side  by first-year Rowan McCrary, who has had a hand in all three Lions goals in their two wins this week and four of their last six markers in their current three-match win streak. She now leads the team in scoring with 11 points on a team-best four goals and three assists.

The goal came after Emerson pinned Mount Holyoke in its own end for the vast majority of the second half, controlling possession throughout.

Sophomore Hailey Forman was called on for just one save – albeit a strong charge and foot stop of a breakaway from Mount Holyoke junior Sage Hudson in the 15th minute to keep the match scoreless.

Mount Holyoke senior Clarissa Govea finished with 14 saves in the Lyons goal.

Prior to the match, Emerson took the time to honor its three seniors as they near the conclusion of their collegiate career. Classmates Linae Bezdek, Presley King and Dylan Parker were all recognized for their contributions to the program, along with their families.
