Women's Soccer and Wellesley End Scoreless

Forman posts second-straight clean sheet and fourth of the season for Lions

BOSTON, Mass. (October 8, 2025) – Emerson College played to its second-straight scoreless draw, tonight finishing deadlocked with Wellesley College for a 0-0 tie in NEWMAC women's soccer action at Rotch Field.

Emerson sophomore Hailey Forman notched her fourth shutout of the season – the third in NEWMAC play with her second-straight clean sheet. She posted the shutout tonight without making a save as the Lions defense limited Wellesley to just one shot in the match, finishing with an 8-1 margin.

Emerson's backline of senior Presley King, junior Carmen Talavera and first-years Kate Baldock and Ella Knox stood tall on defense in front of Forman to limit the Blues to just the one shot. The Lions have now yielded just nine goals over their first 11 matches (0.82 team goals against average), with three goals against over the last five contests (0.60 GAA).

Senior Riley McNair made three saves in posting a shutout at the other end for Wellesley.

The Lions posted six of their eight shots after the intermission, with senior Linae Bezdek fizzing a shot just wide of the right post in the 70th minute. First-year Abby Cockerill also had a strong scoring bid in the 78th minute that was stopped by McNair.
