HOW IT HAPPENED
- Emerson spread five goals through a near seven minute span of the first quarter to jump out to an early 5-1 lead over Emmanuel, which included a pair of markers from Fulgione. The Saints made their way onto the board at 2:34 with a goal from Chant.
- Burns' first two goals of the game kickstarted Emerson's scoring in the second frame to give the Lions a five-goal 7-2 lead with 10:31 on the clock. Swan and Kiniry followed up with a pair of tallies at 7:08 and 6:10 as Emerson's lead was upped to 9-2.
- Within the final two minutes of the half, Favuzza and Colin Dickinson each recorded unassisted tallies for Emmanuel and chipped Emerson's lead down to five at 9-4.
- Chant continued the Saints' scoring run nearly two minutes into the third frame and put the hosts within four at 9-5.
- A four-goal lead soon extended to an eight-goal cushion after Emerson answered with four straight goals, two of which came from Burns to round out his hat trick. Fulgione's goal at 6:18 rounded out the run and moved the score to 13-5.
- Chant broke up Emerson's scoring run with a goal at 4:42 off a feed from Favuzza with the score at 13-6. With six ticks left in the third, Swan added one more goal and bumped the Lions' lead back to eight at 14-6.
- It took Emerson 50 seconds into the fourth to keep their scoring rolling and started another five-goal streak on tallies from Swan and Toomy. Fulgione, sophomore Benson Offit and graduate Peirce Eldredge wrapped the streak as the Lions' lead bolstered to 13 at 19-6.
- Fulgione found the back of the net one last time at 2:16 in the midst of Emmanuel's three-goal scoring run as the Lions rolled to the 20-9 victory over the Saints.
