BABSON PARK, Mass. (April 11, 2026) – Babson College, ranked No. 5 in the USILA Division III poll, scored the first five goals and built a 9-1 lead at the half on its way to a 16-2 victory over Emerson College in a New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) men's lacrosse matchup at MacDowell Field this afternoon.
Sophomore Andrew Almquist led the Babson defensive effort that held Emerson at bay with nine saves over 45-minutes in the Beavers goal. Postgrad Joey Allen led a balanced Babson attack with three goals and an assist, while junior Camden Matthews added two goals and an assist. Postgrad Patrick McAleavey and senior Braden Reilly each contributed a goal and two assists for the Beavers.
Senior Ethan Corby posted 12 saves over the first 36:40 in the Emerson goal, while first year Andrew McKenzie stopped three shots in a quarter of play. Junior Zachary Stern-Hayes had a hand in both Emerson goals with a goal and assist.
Babson opened the scoring with a pair in the opening 1:32 with senior Jack Feeks netting his sixth goal of the season a minute in, followed by Reilly's 15th 32-seconds later. Reilly turned provider for Matthew's 21st of the season with 7:11 to play in the opening quarter. Allen had a role in the Beavers next two goals, assisting on junior Rowan Mondello's sixth of the season with 6:19 remaining in the frame and then scoring his 26th four minutes later for a five-goal cushion. Stern-Hayes capped the first quarter scoring with his 13th of the year to put Emerson on the board.
Babson pulled away from there, scoring four in the second, sparked by two-straight from Allen 1:21 apart on its way to an 11-1 lead midway through the third quarter before Emerson added its second from first year Henry Bradley with 46-seconds left in the third.
