Salve Regina Pushes Past Men's Lacrosse

Koltzan nets four goals and Naglieri posts five points to lead Seahawks

BOSTON, Mass. (April 18, 2026) – Salve Regina University wrapped a six-goal run around halftime in securing a 16-9 victory over Emerson College in a New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) men's lacrosse matchup at Lester Rotch Field tonight.

Senior Chris Koltzan netted four goals and classmate Daniel Naglieri tallied five points with two goals and three assists to pace the Salve Regina attack, while Naglieri chipped in a caused turnover and two ground balls. Senior Casey Johnson and sophomore Charlie Townsend each contributed a pair of goals for the Seahawks, with Townsend collecting four ground balls.

Junior Griffin Caiozzo registered six saves in the Salve goal with seven ground balls, while senior Ethan Corby posted 14 saves in the Emerson goal to mark his sixth-straight double figure save game and tenth this season overall, chipping in four ground balls and a caused turnover.

Senior Aedan Kiniry paced the Emerson attack with two goals and an assist while adding a caused turnover. First year Dylan Wong added a goal and two assists for the Lions, while senior John Marcone caused four turnovers and collected six ground balls at the defensive end.

Salve emerged from an opening quarter with a combined nine goals with a three-goal lead (6-3) as Koltzan spotted the Seahawks a 2-0 lead just 2:20 into the contest with a pair of goals as the visitors registered five different goal scorers in the frame. Kiniry assisted on Wong's goal with 41-seconds to play in the opening frame and then the Seahawks scored the only three goals of the second quarter – the first two by Naglieri to spark what would become a six goal run that stretched two minutes into the third quarter on Koltzan's third of the night and a marker from Johnson.

Salve extended its lead to nine (14-5) on a goal from junior Ryan Bothe 1:23 into the fourth quarter. Emerson outscored the Seahawks 4-2 the rest of the way with four different goal scorers but could get no closer than the final margin.
