The Lead: Senior Nicholas Fulgione tallied a team-best four goals for the Emerson men's lacrosse team in the Lions' 16-10 setback out at Clark on Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Swan kickstarted Emerson's scoring a mere 51 seconds into the start of the first to put Emerson in front, 1-0. Seven seconds later, Hollerbach put in the equalizer at 14:01 before he tallied Clark's go-ahead goal at 10:40.
- With just under six and a half minutes left to play in the first, Fulgione found the back of the net with an unassisted goal that leveled the game 2-all and stayed tied at the end of the frame.
- Clark fired in three consecutive goals to open the second quarter to push their lead to 5-2 before Fulgione made it a three-goal game off a pass from Swan at 10:18.
- Three more goals from Clark followed from 9:29 to 6:15 and put Emerson in a five-goal hole at 8-3. Fulgione answered with his second goal of the frame at 4:01 to cut the lead down to 8-4.
- The Cougars responded with another pair of tallies, their last coming at 2:49 and the score at 10-4 after an unassisted goal from Liddy.
- Through the final two minutes of the half, Fulgione wrapped his hat trick at 1:56 and was followed up by a marker from freshman Aedan Kiniry with 10 seconds left. Emerson entered the break down four at 10-6.
- Clark came out the gate of the first with a string of three consecutive goals, which included two from Wells, and put Emerson back in a six-goal deficit at 12-6 before Howard wrapped the run at 6:57.
- Emerson got two goals back in the final four and a half minutes of the third to get back within six at 13-7.
- Swan secured his hat trick at 4:36 and was followed up by another goal from Kiniry at 1:19 and helped the Lions close the gap to five at 13-8 at the end of the frame.
- Tommy McCarthy and Alex D'Entrone tacked on two more goals in the opening of the fourth to move the score at 15-8 with 11:42 left to play.
- Kiniry slipped in the ninth Emerson goal on an unassisted marker 24 seconds later with the score at 15-9 before Noah Skole sent in the 16th and final goal for the Cougars at 5:54.
- With just over a minute and a half left in regulation, Swan sent in the last Emerson tally to move within six at 16-10 at 1:35.
- Emerson got one shot off within the remaining minute and a half, which was turned away by Harloff as the Lions fell to the Cougars, 16-10.
