HOW IT HAPPENED
- Jordan White's tally at 11:21 of the first frame gave UNE the tight 1-0 edge for the next nine minutes. After a nine minute scoreless drought, Emerson buried back-to-back goals from Fulgione and Offit within the final 2:29 to enter the second frame up 2-1.
- With 11 and a half minutes gone in the second, Emerson and UNE traded off goals as the score sat at 4-all with just under four minutes left to play in the half.
- Under two minutes remained on the clock when Fulgione sent his second goal past Hazard to push Emerson in front, 5-4, before freshman Charlie van Beuren sent in the Lions' sixth goal for the 6-4 lead 12 seconds later.
- Each team got one more shot off before the quarter's end with Emerson ahead, 6-4, at the half.
- Finn McCoy pushed UNE back within one at 6-5 at the 13:21 mark of the third. Starting at 7:32, Fulgione fired in a pair of markers over a minute apart and extended Emerson's lead up to three at 8-5.
- A mere seven seconds after Emerson bumped their lead to three, Gowell turned a face-off win into the Nor'Easters sixth goal of the day with the score now at 8-6.
- It took the Lions four minutes and a goal from Swan to put the visitor's lead back up to three at 9-6 with 2:19 on the clock.
- After Swan put in the ninth Emerson goal, the Lions' defense did not allowed UNE to take a shot and kept their three-goal lead in tact at the end of the third.
- Emerson and UNE once again traded off goals within the opening five minutes as the Lions remained ahead by four at 11-7 after freshman Aedan Kiniry put in a marker at 9:59.
- The three-goal lead Emerson once held was chipped away after UNE dished out four goals from 9:01 to 6:12 to level the score at 11-all.
- After McCoy's goal evened the score, Fulgione fired in the two go-ahead goals that pushed Emerson back in front 13-11, with 3:36 on the clock.
- Shea Fogarty gave UNE life once again and got the Nor'Easters back within one at 13-12 with a tally at 2:53, but it was a goal from senior Jack O'Rourke that iced the Lions' victory at 1:19.
- Hazard sent the potential game-tying goal towards McGrath at the 51 second mark, but McGrath made the key save and watched a shot from White go wide to preserve the 14-12 victory.
