- Sophomore Birk Swan would score 2 unanswered goals to put the Lions in the lead 2-1.
- Senior Skyler Celotto would add 2 of his game-high 6 goals as well as a goal from Junior Nicholas Fulgione to give the Lions a 5-3 advantage after 1 quarter.
- Fulgione would open the 2nd quarter with another goal, followed by 2 more goals from Celotto, followed by Graduate Austin Franklin netting one of his 3 goals on the day; giving Emerson 4 unanswered goals and a 9-4 lead with 5:18 remaining in the 1st half.
- Celotto and Swan would add late 2nd quarter goals; extending the Lions lead to 11-4 at halftime.
- In the 3rd quarter the Lions defense, led by 7 saves from Senior Malcolm McGrath, shutout Wheaton's offense while Swan, Celotto, Franklin, and Freshman Alex Menendez would all find the back of the net, pushing Emerson's lead to 15-4.
- Wheaton was able to add 4 goals in the 4th quarter, but Emerson's lead proved to be too much as the Lions were able to come away with a 16-8 NEWMAC victory over the Lyons of Wheaton.
