HOW IT HAPPENED
- Emerson went on a scoring tear in the opening 15 minutes and tagged Davies with nine goals to give themselves the early 9-0 cushion.
- The trio of Fulgione, Franklin and Swan began the Lions' scoring within the first five minutes to put the score at 3-0 at the 10:56 mark. Halfway through the frame, Celotto, Fulgione and Franklin tacked on three more goals starting at the 6:03 mark to the 4:48 mark for the 6-0 lead.
- One more from Celotto increased the Emerson advantage up to seven before Swan potted the final pair of tallies within the final minute and a half of the stanza.
- After Fulgione tacked on the 10th Emerson net, Eastern Connecticut went on a three-goal run with three goals from Kennedy spread from 13:05 to 6:21. After Kennedy's trio of goals, Emerson's lead was cut to 10-3.
- With the lead down to seven and just over six minutes left in the half, Emerson's offense responded with three goals of their own that included one from Fulgione and another two from Celotto. At the break, Emerson carried a 13-3 advantage.
- Emerson's scoring continued into the third when senior Hunter Gervais fed Franklin for the 14th goal at the 13:09 mark. Kennedy snuck in another goal at 8:13 to bring the score to 14-4.
- Celotto and Swan helped extend the hosts's lead to 12 and held the extensive 16-4 cushion over Eastern Connecticut to enter the final frame.
- The Lions went 1-2 on the man-up in the fourth and used a three-tally quarter to propel their lead all the way up to 14 at 19-5.
- Appolon put one more goal on the board for the Warriors at the 11:29 mark, but a seven shots by the visitors and 12 from the Lions allowed the hosts to seal the 19-5 victory.
