HOW IT HAPPENED
- Gordon's Joel Bean struck first in the opening seconds of the game as he found the back of the net to give Gordon an early 1-0 lead over the Lions. Unfortunately for Gordon, this would be their only goal until the 2nd half.
- Emerson answered with a goal of their own a few minutes later when Sophomore Birk Swan netted a goal on a pass from Senior Skyler Celotto
- Senior Hunter Gervais would find the back of the net 3 times in the 1st quarter and Graduate Austin Franklin added 2 of his game-high 5 goals to give the Lions a 6-1 advantage after the first 15 minutes.
- The Lions kept that momentum rolling into the 2nd quarter as 6 goals from 4 different Lions, including 3 from Franklin, would extend the Lions lead to 12-1 after the first half.
- Gordon was able to get back on the board last in the 3rd quarter when Marco Fernandez found the back of the net; but the Great Scots still faced a 14-2 deficit with 2:31 remaining in the 3rd quarter.
- Emerson Freshman Alex Menendez added some insurance to the Lions lead as the 4th quarter began. Within the first 4 minutes of the quarter, Menendez netted 2 goals; one assisted by Freshman Jared Valluzzi, giving the Lions a17-2 lead.
- The Lions tacked on 2 more goals later in the 4th quarter; securing a 19-4 victory over the Great Scots.
