HOW IT HAPPENED
- Celotto netted his first marker of the game just 49 seconds after the whistle sounded to give Emerson a quick 1-0 lead over Wentworth until the Leopards tallied six straight goals starting at the 8:00 on a pair of goals by Coakley and another pair by Doner.
- With eight seconds left in the first frame, Celotto snuck his second goal of the quarter past Munroe to bring the score to 6-2.
- After Wentworth sent in a pair of tallies in the first two minutes of the second, Doyle punched in his first goal of the year at the 12:05 mark and score at 9-3.
- Doner found the back of the net two more times to push Wentworth's lead up to seven (10-3), yet Emerson answered with a pair of its own, starting at 5:13 on a net by O'Rourke followed by Celotto and Franklin connecting for a marker at 3:27 to cut the lead in half, 10-5.
- Wentworth put in one final goal before half's end when Coakley snuck in a man-up score as Emerson entered the half facing a six-goal deficit, 11-5.
- The third quarter was a defensive battle as only three goals were spread through 15 minutes between the two teams.
- Madden punched in both of Wentworth's goals, while McNeal registered his first collegiate goal at 8:41 with the score at 13-6 at quarter's end.
- Celotto found the back of the net for the third time at 12:14 on an unassisted goal to bring Emerson within six (13-7), but Wentworth strung off four goals over the final 7:11 of regulation to hand the Lions the 17-7 setback.
