Lynn, Mass.- Emerson College squeezed out a victory in the fourth quarter over Fisher College in the NAIA-NCAA cross matchup Thursday evening. The Lions moved to 9-11 on the season while the Falcons drops to 6-12.
Freshman Charlie Boyle opened the game for the Lions with a jump shot that kickstarted the offense to a 7-0 lead. The Falcons responded though and by halftime they retook the lead by a single basket thanks to multiple points from Madison Carroll.
Late in the 4th quarter the Lions offense really took off, as they cruised into a comfortable lead. Emerson starters and bench players got into the mix, as the Lions defeated the Falcons 84-71.
Stat leaders for Fisher included Carroll with 20 points and 2 rebounds. Right behind her was Murphy Carroll with 18 points and 7 rebounds. Leading in rebounds for the Falcons was NaKeeya Goodman-Boddie-Smith with 12 rebounds.
Leading for was Sierra Ducey with 23 points and 9 rebounds. Following her lead was freshman Natalie Busch with 17 points and 3 rebounds.
The Lions next matchup is on Saturday, Feb 6th, when the host Mount Holyoke at 1:00pm.
