Late Game Comeback Not Enough, Men's Lacrosse Falls to Regis

The Emerson Lion's fell to the Regis Pride today in a close contest, final score 15-12. The Lions are now 1-1 on the season as Regis rises to 1-0.

The first quarter started off slow for the Lions with Regis going up 5-1. The only Lion's goal was from freshman attack Andrew Romano. Faceoffs were a large part of Regis's success as Jack O'Brien went 18-28 overall.

The second quarter Emerson matched goals with Regis, each scoring 3. Emerson goals were from Calvin Bussiere, Nicholas Kitsos, and Romano. The Pride held their lead going into halftime, 8-4.

 

The second half saw the Lion's comeback run. In the 4th quarter Regis had extended their lead 15 to 6, but Emerson wouldn't quit. A man-down goal by Kitsos, assist by Jack Bushell, sparked the Lion's offense as they went on a 6 goal run to end the game 15-12 Regis.

There was a four way tie for lead scorer as Kitsos & Romano of Emerson, and Collin Spillane & Nicky Rodrigo of Regis all had 3 goals.


Men's Lacrosse plays next on Tuesday (3/10) at 6:00pm vs Rivier at home.
