Men's Lacrosse Falls to Wildcats, 13-9

Emerson Men's Lacrosse suffered a 13-9 loss on St. Patrick's day against the Johnson & Wales Wildcats. This loss brings Emerson's record to 3-3 while Johnson & Wales rises to 2-3. Emerson has yet to play a NEWMAC team; their first conference game will be on March 28th, against Massachusetts Maritime Academy.

The Wildcats had an explosive first period, scoring 8-0 to a silent Lion's offense. Johnson & Wales's Max Stone scored three goals in the first quarter, four overall.

Emerson junior Nick Kitsos started out the second period with Emerson's first goal of the game, he went on to have two goals and one assist. Both teams remained evenly matched throughout the second period; Emerson scored two goals to the Wildcat's three.

Emerson took over in the third period scoring four goals to the Wildcat's two.

Emerson kept this streak up in the fourth period outscoring Johnson and Wales 3-0. Bussiere scored 2 of these goals for the Lions (3 total, 2 assists). Lead scorers for the Lions were Bussiere and freshman Diego Rosende with three goals.

Johnson & Wales lead the face-off game as Senior Jack Pettine went 10 of 14 and the Wildcats won 14 of 25 overall.

Next up is the Lion's first road game as they visit Mitchell College on March 25th at 4:00pm.
