Savino Lights Up To Lead Basketball Past Fisher

BOSTON, Mass. – Rookie Maya Savino put up a career night Wednesday with 14 points, five rebounds, four assists and three steals as she helped lead the Emerson Women's Basketball Team to an 87-48 win over Fisher. The Lions are now 2-1 on the year as Fisher drops to 0-3 overall.

The first half saw Savino go on a tear with 11 points as the Lions shot nearly 40% as a team. The Lions were potent in the paint as well with 20 points, six from Sierra Ducey who also scrapped five boards. The bench for EC was also unstoppable adding in 24 points for the Lions as they went into the break up 45-18.

The second half saw the Lions spread the wealth more as 10-of-12 players that checked in for the Lions added points to their tally. Eastin Ashby led the team with eight points and four steals in the half. EC also forced nine turnovers that they turned into 15 points while adding 20 more points in the paint as they ripped to the 87-48 final.

The Lions return to action next week as they set to host Wheelock on Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. at Emerson's Brown-Plofker Gym in Boston, Mass.
