Box Score BOSTON, Mass. – Clayton Fisk's 15 saves on the day couldn't hold off the matching Saints of Emmanuel as the Emerson Men's Lacrosse Team fell 16-4 Saturday in GNAC action. With the loss Emerson is now 2-6 on the year and 1-5 in conference play while Emmanuel moves to 4-7 overall and 2-3 in the GNAC.
The Saints started off hot on the day, as they put up their first goal of the game three minutes into play which they followed up with three more unanswered goals to pull it to 4-0 before the end of the first.
The second saw a little more life out of the Lions as Emmanuel put in two more goals before Emerson started up some offense of their own with Eric Colleran connecting with Brady Darragh for his seventh goal of the year with 11 minutes left in the half.
The Lions struck again with eight minutes to go as they capitalized on a power play with Nicholas Kitsos setting up Brandon Lavoie. Emmanuel closed out the half with three more goals as they headed into the half up 9-2.
The Lions rolled out of the break with some energy as Brandon Lavoie only needed 43 seconds into the third and a pass from Benjamin Byrd to add his second goal of the game. Nicholas Kitsos was up next about 34 seconds later as he netted his 11th goal of the year off a pass from Brandon Lavoie.
From that point on though, it was all Emmanuel as the Saints put in five more goals in the third before closing out the fourth with two more to wrap up the 16-4 win.
The Lions return to their home turf this week as they set to host Rivier Tuesday. Game time is set for 6 p.m. in Boston at Rotch Field.
