Box Score BOSTON, Mass. – Senior Day and a team season-high 96 points highlighted the day as the Emerson Women's Basketball Team closed out their 2012-2013 regular home schedule Sunday afternoon, topping the Fisher Falcons 96-53. With the win the Lions push their win streak to six while improving to 12-11 on the year as Fisher falls to 1-24.
The first half saw EC click into high gear straight out of the start, shooting 53% as a team while hitting 50% from three point land and 90% in free throws. Kristin Brice led the assault with 13 points to tie Fisher's Javanna Bernard to lead the floor. Right behind her off the bench was Elissa Chojnicki who heated up to hit 5-for-7 for 12 points of her own.
The Lion defense made the most out of throwing the Falcons off-balance as they forced six turnovers for 12 points in the half. For the first 20 minutes though it was all EC, scoring 22 points in the paint while the bench scored 29 to head into the half up 53-28.
The second half saw EC tear it up again, this time shooting 44% from the floor in the half. This time around Kristin Brice and Elissa Chojnicki shared the wealth, dropping 10 points each to lead the Lions. Javanna Bernard for Fisher led the floor though as she dropped 12 points in the half for the Falcons.
In the end the Lions pulled away with a solid lead with the bench again dropping 22 points in the half in dominant fashion, pulling the bench's tally to 51 points on the day. EC also did work in the paint with 54 points overall coming from inside the box as Emerson rolled to a 96-53 win.
The Lions pick up GNAC action again this week as they set to travel to Anna Maria on Tuesday night. Tip of is set for 5:30 p.m. in Paxton, Mass.
