Box Score BOSTON, Mass. – Even with Max Smith's five goals on the night, Lasell put up 45 shots on the night, in an assult the Emerson Men's Lacrosse Team was unable to fend off Thursday night as they fell in a 19-6 contest to the visiting GNAC opponent. With the loss Emerson falls to 0-2 on the year and 0-2 in conference play as the Lasers improve to 4-4 overall and 2-0 in the GNAC.
The first half saw the Lasers pour the gas on their offense as they put up 11 goals in the first two periods alone with six in the first and five in the second. Lasell's Jake LaMorte and Dylan Gray both led the way with two goals apiece as the Lasers spread the offense.
The Lions seemed to be on their heels until the second period when Max Smith lashed out twice in the sixth minute of play and again with a mere :32 seconds on the clock again as the half expired sending the teams into the break with Lasell up 11-2.
The second half saw the Lasers jump out again with another goal, but EC answered this time as Brady Darragh put one in right after. Even with Donald Welch's 11 saves on the game, he couldn't stop the attack from Lasell as two more went past the posts before Max Smith took a pass from Eric Colleran with a little over a minute left in the third period to make it 14-4 Lasell headed into the final quarter.
The Lasers didn't let up with a steady barrage of subs for fresh legs to keep the pressure on Emerson as they put in five more in the closing period of the game with Max Smith leading the offense again with two more goals as the game closed out with a 19-6 final.
Up next the Lions return to their home pitch this Saturday as they set to host Emmanuel at 3 p.m. in Boston at Rotch Field.
