Men's Tennis Nocchi and Leung lead double-winners for Lions

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. (October 7, 2025) – Emerson College closed out its fall schedule with a commanding 6-0 decision over Bridgewater State University in a non-conference men's tennis dual match at Rosen Memorial Tennis Courts this afternoon.

  • Emerson swept the three doubles matches for the second-straight dual match to earn the first point of the afternoon.
  • Nocchi and Leung clinched the point with their 6-0 triumph at No. 1 doubles.
  • The Lions won five singles matches to close out the match with a sixth match left unfinished due to darkness.
  • Yunes posted Emerson's first singles point with his 6-1, 6-2 win at No. 6 singles over Bridgewater State's Jayton Woods.
  • Leung pulled Emerson within a point of the victory with a 6-1, 6-2 decision over Adam Beatrice at No. 2 singles and then Nocchi provided the match clinching point with a 6-3, 6-1 win at No. 1 singles against Will Horton.
  • Finestone won the final Lions point at No. 4 singles against Anthony Lucas, 6-1, 6-4.

Coach's Corner
"It was great to get our first win of the season against a Bridgewater State team is well coached, talented, and battles hard," said Emerson head coach Burke Paxton. "I thought the guys went out there with great energy and took care of business. A great way to end our fall season, and a good building block for the spring."
