HOW IT HAPPENED
- Babson wasted little time getting themselves an early lead and used back-to-back singles from Noone and Ryan Hvozdovic to gain the 3-0 lead over Emerson in the top of the first.
- Emerson eyed a five-run deficit after Babson's half of the second capitalized on a defensive miscue and plated two runs when Savage roped a single into left.
- Sophomore Robby Posio was plunked by a pitch and was followed by Bourne's single into left to put runners on first and second in the bottom of the second to begin a two-out rally for Emerson.
- Morgan then pushed across Emerson's first run after he hit an RBI single past the third baseman to drive in Posio with the score now at 5-1.
- The inning continued for the Lions after Copeland was hit by a pitch to load up the bases, but Hatch drove a deep fly ball to right to close out the home team's second inning.
- Babson pieced together a six-run fourth frame that was highlighted by Noone's three-run homer that landed over the wall in right field and put Emerson in an 11-1 hole.
- Copeland knocked an RBI single up the middle in the Lions' fourth frame to cross Bourne home and the score sat at 11-2.
- The top of the fifth had Babson come home four more times behind stealing home and a pair of RBI singles as the score moved to 15-2.
- Emerson saw their deficit stretch to 16-2 after Savage went yard and launched a solo homer over the left field fence.
