WALTHAM, Mass. (April 25, 2026) – Lasell University swept a non-conference baseball doubleheader against Emerson College at Stein Diamond on the campus of Brandeis University this afternoon. The Lasers posted a 9-2 win in game one before finishing off a 4-3 decision in game two.
Game 1: Lasell 9, Emerson 2
Lasell used a three run third inning and four run fourth to grab a seven-run lead it would not relinquish in game one. Postgrad Tim Callahan led the Lasers 15-hit effort by going 4-for-5 with a double, triple, stolen base, RBI and three runs scored, while freshman Calvin Sanft was 3-for-5 with three RBI. Senior Jonah Nielsen went 2-for-5 with a double, home run, two RBI and two runs scored. Junior Declan Silva contributed three hits with a double, stolen base, RBI and three runs scored for the Lasers.
Sophomore righthander Benjamin Conlon earned the win (3-1) in relief on the mound for Lasell, allowing two earned runs on five hits with six strikeouts and no walks over four innings. Junior righthander Ty Lohsen pitched the first four for the Lasers, scattering five hits without allowing a run with two strikeouts and a walk.
Sophomore Aidan Callahan and first year Vincent Fuller each doubled for Emerson, with Fuller finishing 2-for-4 with a run scored. Sophomore Liam Curley and senior Charlie Coors each drove in runs for the Lions.
Doubles from Nielsen, Silva and Callahan fueled Lasell's three run third inning, with postgrad Connor Freitas adding a sacrifice fly and Sanft an RBI single to center. Nielsen sparked the Lasers four run fourth by following a one out double by junior Nick Nigro with a home run to left center. Sanft capped the inning with a two-run single to left.
Fuller led off the seventh with a double and scored on a pinch-hit single by Coors to put Emerson on the board. The Lions added a second in the eighth when junior Braeden O'Connell singled with one out, stole second and scored on a single to right by Curley. Lasell sealed the win with a pair in the home half of the eighth.
Game 2: Lasell 4, Emerson 3
Lasell rode a three run second to the game two win and complete the doubleheader sweep. Declan Silva did the damage with a three-run double in the second and finished 2-for-4 with a pair of doubles. Sophomore lefthander Chase Supan picked up the win (3-2) on the mound, allowing three runs, two earned, on five hits with three strikeouts and two walks over six innings for the Lasers.
Calvin Sanft added two more hits for Lasell, including a double, with a stolen base, while Tim Callahan doubled and stole a base.
Charlie Coors batted 2-for-4 with an RBI for Emerson, while senior Justin Fields and first year Liam Wagner added doubles, with Fields scoring a run for the Lions. Sophomore righthander Henry Kagan pitched well in defeat (1-6) with a complete game on the mound for Emerson, surrendering four runs, just three earned, on nine hits with four strikeouts and two walks.
Emerson struck first when Fields led off the game with a double and scored on a two out single to left by Coors. Silva's three-run double with two away in the second put Lasell in front for good, but the Lions drew back within a run (3-2) in the third when Aidan Callahan led off with a double and later scored on an error when Braeden O'Connell singled with two out.
Lasell added a needed insurance run in the home half of the third when Freitas led off with a single and later scored on a passed ball. Emerson trimmed the lead to a single run again in the seventh with Curley drawing a leadoff walk and scoring on a sacrifice fly to center by Vincent Fuller after Wagner's double.
Lasell worked out of a jam in the eighth and junior lefthander Jeremy Wacker finished off the two inning save for the Lasers with a 1-2-3 ninth capped by a strikeout.
