Sophomore righthander Nolan Romanowski started and went the first eight for the Seahawks, allowing five runs, four earned, on eight hits with seven strikeouts and a walk.
Senior Charlie Coors posted a pair of hits, including a solo home run to spark the Emerson offense and a clutch two run single up the middle with two out in the 12th inning to extend the game after Salve had scored a pair in the top half. Sophomore Aidan Callahan went 3-for-5 with a stolen base, while junior Justin Fields added two hits, including a double, with two runs scored for the Lions. Sophomore John Churchward chipped in with two RBI.
Sophomore righthander Henry Kagan started for Emerson and allowed five earned runs on 12 hits with a strikeout and three walks over the first 5.2 innings. Junior righthander Tyler Metcalf followed and scattered two earned runs and seven hits with three strikeouts and three walks over the next 5.2 innings. Senior righthander Huon Fitzpatrick took the loss (0-1), surrendering an earned run on a hit in 2.2 innings for the Lions.
Salve scored single runs in the first three innings and then fifth and sixth, but Emerson responded by following up Coors solo homer in the second with two in the third to knot the score (3-3). Callahan and Fields singled with one out and then Callahan scored when Churchward reached on a fielder's choice before senior Braeden O'Connell followed with a sacrifice fly to score Fields.
Salve regained the lead in the fifth on an RBI double by Hamilton, but Emerson grabbed the lead in the home half with a pair of runs with two out. Fields sparked the inning with a two-out double and scored when Churchward followed with an RBI single down the rightfield line. First year Liam Wagner added an RBI single to center two batters later to push the Lions into the lead (5-4). Salve answered in the sixth with a leadoff double by senior Matt Stokes and RBI single to right by Cimini with two away.
The game remained deadlocked into the 12th when Salve appeared to grab control with two runs in the top half. Postgrad Brady Smolinski pushed the Seahawks back in front with a pinch-hit RBI single, followed by an RBI single by Cimini for what seemed like an important insurance run. Emerson loaded the bases with two out with two hit batters and a walk before Coors delivered his two-run single up the middle. The Lions loaded the bases again with a walk but could not plate the winning run as Santerre worked out of the jam with a pop up.
Rogers led off the decisive 14th with a single and would go on to score the eventual winning run with Hamilton's sacrifice fly to right. Santerre retired Emerson in order in the bottom of the inning to close out the victory.
