HOW IT HAPPENED
- Brandeis broke the scoreless tie in the home half of the 3rd inning when they capitalized on 3 singles and a miscue by the Lions defense. The Judges pushed across 2 runs in the inning.
- The Lions answered in a big way in the top of the 4th inning. Jake Hatch and Matt Nachamie reached base before Chris Ferara plated both runners with a single to left field. Thai Morgan would later score on a wild pitch.
- Nicholas Favazzo delivered the knockout blow with a grand slam, capping off a 6-run inning for the Lions. Emerson was now in the lead 6-2.
- The Lions scored an insurance run in the top of the 5th inning when Morgan tripled home Nachamie. The Lions now held a 7-2 lead and this would be all the run support AJ Ortega would need as he kept the Brandeis offense at bay through a complete game, 7-inning performance.
