Box Score BROCKTON, Mass. – It was a windy day at Campanelli Stadium as Emerson Baseball faced off against The Lasell College Lasers. Lasell took the day with a final score of 4-1. Senior pitcher Jack Capotorto pitched a full 9 innings giving up 6 hits and 1 earned run. Lasell's starting pitcher Gary Trottier received his first win of the season allowing 7 hits and one earned run in 6 innings. With this non-conference win, Lasell improves to 8-8 on the season, while the Lions fall to 3-13 overall and remain 0-3 in the NEWMAC.
Pablo Feldman scored the sole run for the Lions off an error by Dom Mascolo when Steve Cameron laid down a bunt. Feldman, Mitch Moorman, and Steve Cameron each hit a double in the game as well.
Lasell Freshman Evan Michalek collected 2 RBIs off a single in the second inning. The third run for the Lasers came from a sacrifice fly by Wes Hurty allowing Tyler Flaherty to score. Flaherty scored again off an error by Jim Cain later in the game.
Matt Haskell came in to relieve Trottier in the 7th inning giving up 2 hits. Hector Coscione received the save as he came into the game in the 9th inning only allowing one walk.
Lasell plays its first conference game against Suffolk University on Sat. April 2. The Lions play tomorrow, Friday April 1st, at Campanelli Stadium against Eastern Nazarene, opening pitch at 6:00pm.
