Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 | Box Score 3

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. – Freshman Johnny Hasney went on a .571 tear as the Emerson Baseball Team faced-off against Wilkes in a doubleheader and Mt. Alyosius on Tuesday and Wednesday. Hasney went 4-for-7 from the plate with an RBI and a slugging percentage of .571 as the Lions fell to the Colonels and the Mounties.

Game one against the Colonels saw Sammy Evers head to the mound for the Lions where EC went neck-and-neck with the Mounties through five innings. The Mounties scored first with a run in the first inning, but Emerson fired back with a run of their own with a lead-off single from James Sullivan who was brought home off an RBI single from Zach Dean to knot it.

Wilkes came back swinging in the second though, putting up three off of two hits and an error. Emerson kept at the Colonels though, coming back with two of their own in the third inning with another lead-off single from Sullivan that Cal Ciarcia brought home. Zach Dean made it a round trip as well as he singled and was driven home by a Kolby Woodfield double to make it 4-3.

The score remained close until the sixth when Wilkes added another and scratched two more on the board in the seventh, even as Zach Dean collected a breakout day, going 3-for-4 with a run scored and an RBI as the Lions fell 7-3.

Game two of the doubleheader saw the Lions fall 13-2 to the Colonels with James Sullivan going 2-for-4 with two RBIs in the game while Cal Ciarcia batted a perfect 2-for-2.

Against Mt. Aloysius, Johnny Hasney was stellar, going 2-for-3 in the game with an RBI as Emerson fell 16-1.

The Lions return to action Thursday as they face Penn St.-Berks at 9 a.m. in Myrtle Beach, S.C.
