ATTLEBORO, Mass. (August 30, 2025) -- The Emerson College men's cross country lifted the lid on its 2025 season, traveling to the Suffolk College Short Course Classic Saturday afternoon in Highland Park. The course was a 5K course for the men's team.
Senior John Lanza was the team's top performer on Saturday afternoon, as he raced to a time of 18:27.9 for 100th place overall. Sophomore Christiano Iannacone came in second among Lion runners in the season opener, as he crossed the finish line in 19:41.4 for 130th place.
Junior Bryan Hecht scored for the Lions with a 19:56.6 for 133th place, while classmate Charles Reeg was right behind Hecht with a 20:26.4 for 139th place overall.
Fellow junior Paulo Vallejo Cardenas was the final scorer for the Lions with a 20:36.7 for 141st place.
Nico Wahl also finished for Emerson with a 24:03.0.
The Lions will get next weekend off before heading to the Gordon Pop Crowell Invitational in Wenhan, Massachusetts.
