STANDISH, Maine (October 18, 2025) – Emerson College senior John Lanza recorded the first win of his collegiate career to lead the Lions to a second place team finish at the Coach Dann Runnin' Monks Classic, hosted by Saint Joseph's College of Maine today.
Lanza, who also posted his second career top ten and first top five, completed the eight-kilometer course in 29:02.6 to edge Alexey Seredin (29:09.4) of host Saint Joseph's by just under seven seconds. Lanza led a pair of top five finishers for the Lions, with three in the top ten, for a second-place team finish with 37 points, with Southern Maine taking the team title with 31 points. Saint Joseph's was third (58 points).
Junior Andre Lazarus finished fifth for Emerson in 29:15.4, while sophomore Christiano Iannacone placed tenth in 30:54.6.
