SPRINGFIELD, Mass.- The Emerson College women's lacrosse team endured a 23-3 loss at Springfield Saturday afternoon in the first New England Women's & Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) contest of the spring.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

• Springfield established an 8-1 lead after the first quarter of play.
• The Pride netted six goals in the second period to boast a 14-1 advantage at the half.
• The home side tacked on five goals in the third to widen the margin to 19-1.
• Springfield outscored Emerson 4-2 in the final frame to secure its first league victory.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:

• Callie Krosin (Pikesville, Md.) paced the visitors with one goal and one assist.
• Ava DelliCompagni (Coatesville, Pa.) and Stella Huberlie (Canandaigua, N.Y.) tallied one goal each.
• Between the posts, Ellie Spotts (Corona Del Mar, Calif.) finished with 12 saves.
• Emerson managed nine shots on the afternoon while Springfield manufactured 45 shot attempts.
