BOSTON, Mass. (November 19, 2025) – Emerson College sophomore guard Jessie Silk has earned a spot on the New England Women's Basketball Association (NEWBA) First Team of the Week for her efforts in leading the Lions to a 2-1 week.
Silk, who earned Offensive Player of the Week accolades from the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) on Monday, has been named to the NEWBA Team of the Week first team for the first time. She averaged a double-double of 21.3 points and 13.0 rebounds per game over the Lions three games, adding 2.7 assists and 1.7 steals per game and connecting on 7-of-11 three-pointers (63.6-percent) and hitting 21-of-28 free-throws (75%) for the week. Silk opened the week with 18 points, aided by a 7-for-9 effort at the free-throw line, and eight rebounds in 22 minutes as the Lions notched a 78-71 win over Endicott College on Monday.
Silk earned All-Tournament honors at Wesleyan University's Courtyard by Marriott Classic over the weekend when she averaged 23.0 points, 15.5 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 2.0 steals per game over Emerson's two games at the event, shooting a combined 73.7% (14-19) from the free-throw line and connecting on 6-of-8 (75%) three-pointers. She posted her second double-double of the season in Saturday night's 60-51 win over Albertus Magnus College with 14 points and a career-high 18 rebounds (seven offensive), adding five assists and a steal. Silk capped the week with her second double-double of the weekend and third of the season overall (fifth career) against Wesleyan on Sunday with a career and game-high 32 points, burying all six three-point attempts, and a game-best 13 rebounds, three steals, and two assists.
Silk is ranked second in the NEWMAC in scoring and rebounding after the first two weeks of the season with 19.8 points and 12.8 rebounds (26th nationally) per game, while also ranking tenth in the Conference with 2.8 assists and 2.3 steals in 30.5 minutes per game. She is shooting 45-percent (9-for-20) from three-point distance (7th NEWMAC) and converting 77.4% (24-31) of her free-throws (4th) through four games, having scored in double figures in all four games, with double-digit rebounds in three games. Her three double-doubles over four games rank second in the NEWMAC and sixth nationally, while her 10.0 defensive rebounds per game is tops in the Conference and 14th in Division III.
Silk has started all 28 games she has played over her first two seasons at Emerson, averaging 11.9 points on 41.2-percent shooting, including 41.8% from three-point range, converting 75.2% of her free-throws. She has totaled 333 points, 185 rebounds, 98 assists and 36 steals for her career, having scored in double figures in 19 of her 28 career games, with ten-plus rebounds five times. Silk has led the Lions in scoring five times and the team posting a 4-1 mark in those contests.
Emerson (3-1, 0-0 NEWMAC) returns to action this weekend for the Lafrance Hospitality Tournament, hosted by the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth, on Saturday and Sunday. The Lions open against host UMass Dartmouth on Saturday at 4 p.m., before facing the University of New England on Sunday at noon. Emerson's next home game is next Tuesday, November 25, when it hosts Western New England University at Bobbi Brown and Stephen Plofker Gymnasium at 5:30 p.m.
