HOPKINTON, N.H. (October 10, 2025) – The Emerson College men's cross country team turned in a ninth-place team finish with two runners in the top 70 at the Hopkinton Cross Country Festival on the eight-kilometer course at Hopkinton Fairgrounds this afternoon.
Senior John Lanza and junior Andre Lazarus led Emerson to the ninth-place finish in the field of 15 teams. The Lions compiled 260 points with Lanza finishing 59th in the field of 125 runners in 27:50.68, while Lazarus took 68th in 28:36.39.
Fellow NEWMAC member Babson College won the team title with 39 points, led by Nick Yacoub (25:35.69) finishing first among collegiate runners and fourth overall in the field that included programs from all three NCAA divisions. UAlbany (61 points) took second with Franklin Pierce University (63) third. The Lions finished fourth among NCAA Division III programs at the event.
Lanza completed the eight kilometers in 27:50.68 and finished 22nd among Division III entries. Lazarus placed 26th among Division III competitors with his time of 28:36.39.
