HOW IT HAPPENED
- The game was wire to wire between Emerson and Nichols. The teams traded goals ans leads through the first 15 minutes. With just over two minutes remaining in the first quarter, Callie Krosin scored a go-ahead goal for the Lions, putting them on top 5-4 after one quarter.
- A goal from Maddy Reyes to open the second quarter gave the Lions a 2-goal lead two minutes into the second quarter. Nicholas answered with 4 unanswered goals to gain a 8-6 lead with 6 minutes remaining in the half. Crosin and Reyes would net another each to tie the game before Nichols was able to score a late goal and gain a 9-8 lead going into halftime.
- Hannah Beck opened the second half for the Lions with a goal, followed by another goal from Crosin, giving the Lions a 10-9 lead. Nichols would score another 5 unanswered goals throughout the quarter to regain a 13-10 lead.
- The 4th quarter saw Nichols build a 15-11 lead before the Lions came storming back. Goals from Beck, Crosin and Lauren Longstreet helped bring the Lions to within 2 points with the score being 16-14. Beck netted a goal with :47 remining in the game, bringing the Lions within one point but the game would end with Nichols holding on to a slim 16-15 victory.

- Emerson heads to Hilton Head South Carolina for Spring break. Their first game will be against the University of Hartford on March 13th at 3pm.
