The Lead: Sophomore Callie Krosin and junior Lauren Longstreet tallied four goals apiece followed by three goals from sophomore Grace Danehy to help propel the Emerson women's lacrosse team back into the win column with a tight 16-14 victory over Gordon on Wednesday night.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Emerson found themselves in a 2-0 hole within the opening four minutes of the first frame after Beling and Piorkowski tallied a pair of goals for Gordon with 10:54 on the clock.
- Down 2-0, Emerson responded with the quarter's next trio of goals to give them their first lead at 3-2.
- Beck potted the Lions' first goal at 8:55 before Krosin knotted the game at 2-all with a free-position goal. Rein rounded out the three-goal run when she found the back of the net at 5:43 off a pass from Beck.
- Gordon used the last two minutes of the stanza to regain the 4-3 lead behind two goals from Piorkowski and Lecci.
- A busy second quarter consisted of four ties and four lead changes as Emerson was able to power out five goals to give themselves the lead at the break, 8-7.
- Emerson and Gordon traded off goals up until the 1:36 mark as the Lions leveled the score at 7-all after Reyes netted the equalizer. Then with two seconds left in the frame, Longstreet converted a successful free-position shot and gave Emerson the one-goal lead at the break.
- Out the gate of the third, Danehy and Krosin lifted Emerson to a three-goal lead at 10-7 just 2:27 into the quarter.
- Gordon used goals from Beling and Mini to chip the margin down to 10-9, but was quickly followed by a four-goal scoring tear by Emerson.
- Emerson's scoring streak included Longstreet's hat trick and a goal from Danehy that gave the hosts their biggest lead at 14-9 with 4:12 to go in the frame.
- The Fighting Scots battled their way back into the game in the last three minutes of the third with a string of three goals and closed the gap to 14-12 entering the fourth.
- Krosin netted back-to-back goals in the beginning of the fourth, one of which was a man-down situation, and brought Emerson's lead back to four at 16-12 at the 4:19 mark.
- Piorkowski and Mini tallied two consecutive goals in a matter of 47 seconds to inch Gordon in striking distance at 16-14 with 3:07 on the clock.
- Two shots from Gordon were sent towards Khosla, one going wide and the other dinging the crossbar, at the 2:18 mark and the last time the Fighting Scots would gain possession.
- Emerson used the remaining two minutes of regulation on the offensive attack and held on to the two-goal 16-14 win.
