The Lead: The Emerson women's soccer team shouldered a 4-0 setback at the hands of the No. 4 Amherst Mammoths under the lights of Rotch on Tuesday night. 

INSIDE THE NUMBERS 

EMERSON

Simone Barragan-Shaw: one shot

Katie Wojcik: one shot

GOALIE: Amara Schaub (L, 1-2-2): four goals allowed on 13 shots with nine stops through 90 minutes

AMHERST

Abby Schwartz: one goal

Ally Deegan: one goal

Charlotte McGuire: one goal

Isabel Stern: one goal

GOALIE: Mika Fisher (W, 4-1): zero goals allowed on two shots through 90 minutes

HOW IT HAPPENED 

19": On a misplay by the defense in front of the net, Stern slipped around Schaub and put the ball into the lower right corner as Emerson trailed 1-0. 

22": Three minutes later, Emerson fell to a two-goal deficit when Schwartz sent in Amherst's second goal from within the left post and up into the upper right corner. 

43" & 44": Amherst added their third and fourth goals from Deegan and McGuire within 56 seconds of each other both on miscues by the Lions defenders. 

-Emerson held Amherst scoreless within the second half, but the Lions were unable to find the back of the net in the 4-0 setback.
