BOSTON, Mass. (October 24, 2026) – First year Adyson Wiseman scored the lone goal of the match with just 2:05 to play to send Springfield College to a 1-0 victory over Emerson College in a New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) women's soccer matchup at Rotch Field this afternoon.
Prior to the match, Emerson took a moment to honor its three seniors and families for their contributions to the program over the last four years. This year's senior class is Kaylin O'Meara, Zoe Simmons and Carmen Talavera. The trio has led the Lions to 32 wins, three-straight NEWMAC Tournament appearances and a top ten team grade point average in NCAA Division III.
Junior Micaela Tracy finished with five saves, including four in the second half and a pair of point-blank shots, to keep Springfield level before Wiseman's late winner. Junior Hailey Forman made four saves in goal for Emerson.
Springfield was awarded a late free kick ten yards inside the halfway line on the left flank and junior Lauren Darrell served the kick deep inside the 18. Tracey was in position to deliver her fourth goal of the season off an Emerson defender with her right foot into the left side of the goal with just 2:05 to play.
Emerson (6-8-2, 4-5-0 NEWMAC) returns to action on Wednesday when it visits No. 5-ranked MIT for a NEWMAC clash at 4 p.m. The Lions return home next Saturday to host Babson College for their NEWMAC regular season finale here at Rotch Field at 1 p.m. Springfield (4-10-1, 3-5-2 NEWMAC) hosts Mount Holyoke College on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
