The Lead: The Emerson Men's Tennis team picked up 2 singles victories but were shutout in doubles play as they were defeated by Wheaton (MA); 7-2 on Wednesday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED 

• The Lions were shutout in doubles action.
  • Bass Lin & Ryu Watanabe were topped by Ian Tracey and Josh Ashuetz 8-2 in the No. 1 doubles match.
  • Maximo Lawlor & Pete Sevikul fell to Albert Ortego Campos and Jack Luyrink in the No. 2 doubles match.
  • Daniel Kennedy & Cooper Sherman were defeated by Ethan Na and Elijah Hanlon 8-3 in the No. 3 doubles.

• Down 3-0 heading into singled play, the Lions were able to capture two victories in the No. 2 and No. 3 match.
  • Bass Lin fell to Ian Tracey 6-3, 6-0 in the No. 1 singles match
  • Maximo Lawlor was able to claim the No. 2 singles victory for the Lions with a win over Josh Anshuetz
  • Ryu Watanabe followed up with a victory over Albert Ortega Campos.
  • Ethan Na put Wheaton (MA) back in the win column with a win over Pete Sevikul: 6-3, 6-1. 
  • Daniel Kennedy was defeated by Karl von Weissenbeck; 6-0, 6-1. 
  • Daniel Bor was able to secure the victory over Cooper Sherman with a 6-0, 6-3 victory.
