The Lead: Sophomore Lauren Longstreet contributed a game high four goals and four assists to help the Emerson women's lacrosse team get back in the win column with a 14-8 NEWMAC victory over Wellesley on Wednesday night.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- In the opening eight minutes minutes of the first quarter, Emerson and Wellesley exchanged leads three times before the Lions took the outright edge on a four-goal scoring run that included two of Longstreets' four goals.
- Basic potted the seventh Emerson goal with 28 seconds to go in the first as the Lions held the four-goal 7-3 advantage through the first 15 minutes.
- Emerson, who went 0-3 in free-position opportunities, were held scoreless in the second behind a strong defensive effort by Wellesley, which allowed the Blue chisel the Lions' lead down to one at 7-6.
- Burdick tallied two goals to put the game at 7-5 at the seven minute mark before Sugg rounded out the half's scoring a minute later.
- The Lions got their scoring back on track and found the back of the net twice to begin the third frame. Basic put in a free-position goal at 9:57 before Beck netted an unassisted marker to up Emerson's advantage back to three at 9-6.
- Goals from McGough and Mallett once again erased a three-plus goal deficit and put the score at 9-8 at the conclusion of the third.
- The fourth quarter's scoring went Emerson's direction for the visitors tallied all five of the frame's goals.
- Longstreet assisted both Rein and Krosin on the first pair of tallies in the fourth as Emerson's lead was once again bumped up to three at 11-8 at the 10:54 mark.
- At 8:38, Reyes put in a free-position goal to give Emerson the four-goal lead at 12-8 before Beck and Rein slipped the game's last pair of goals in within the final five minutes to ice the 14-8 victory.
