- 17 seconds after Emerson pushed its lead two a pair, Wentworth cut the lead down to one on Galen's assisted goal from Hamblett. With four seconds left in the first, Basic potted her second net to up Emerson's lead to 3-1 going into the second.
- Emerson's offense commanded the second quarter and outscored Wentworth, 6-3. After Murray slimmed Emerson's lead down to one after a marker at 13:53, Longstreet and Basic went to work with the next three Lions' goals and moved the scored to 6-2.
- Galan snuck in a pair of goals to break up Emerson's scoring, but Burns, Basic and Longstreet fired in three more goals past Kuhns as the Lions held a 9-4 lead at the half.
- Emerson maintained a comfortable lead over Wentworth within the third and outscore the Leopards, 5-4, while also outshot the visitors, 11-7. Basic, Krosin, Rein & Longstreet helped Emerson hold the seven-point cushion at 14-7 before Murray wrapped the frame's scoring with 51 seconds for the eighth Leopards goal. (14-8)
- Emerson was held scoreless within the final 15 minutes, which allowed Wentworth to chisel away at the Lions' six-point advantage. The duo of Murray and Galan powered out all four of the Leopards' goals and were within a two-point reach at 14-12 with 5:34 on the clock.
- Khosla was clutch in between the pipes and was there to stop any threat from Wentworth as the junior made three key stops to keep the Leopards off the board. At 1:45, Galan had one last free-position opportunity, but Khosla got her stick on the shot and knocked it wide as the Lions held on to the 14-12 win.
