The Lead: In their first match of the 2022 spring season, the Emerson men's tennis team collected a doubles victory and two singles victories, but were upended by Roger Williams, 6-3, at the Winchester Indoor Courts on Saturday afternoon.

MATCH NOTES
- Roger Williams men's tennis defeated Emerson, 6-3, on Saturday afternoon in the Lions' 2022 spring season opener as the Purple & Gold fall to 0-5.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Lions collected one doubles victory and trailed 3-1.
- #1: Dan Tocco and Jon Treventhan topped Lin and Watanabe in the No. 1 spot.
- #2: Lawlor & Sevikul teamed up to take down Matt Glassman and Ryan Schnuck in the No. 2 doubles.
- #3: Daniel Kennedy and Cooper Sherman were upended in the No. 3 doubles set, 8-1, by Tyler Cain and Alex Smith.
- Emerson entered the singles matches down 3-1 and were able to pick up wins in the No. 1 and No. 3 match, but Roger Williams took the remaining four games to take the 6-3 win over the Lions.
- #1: After he trailed 4-6 in the first set, Lin snagged the No. 1 singles match victory after he took the next two sets, 6-1 and 10-8, over Jon Trevethan.
- #2: In the No. 2 singles game, Lawlor was tripped up by Tocco, 6-2 and 6-4.
- #3: Emerson picked up another singles win in the No. 3 match as Watanabe came back to take down Glassman, 6-1 and 10-8.
- #4: Sevikul fell in the No. 4 singles game, 6-3 and 6-0, to Ryan Schuck.
- #5: Kennedy was topped by Alex Smith: 6-1, 6-4
- #6: Sherman fell to Tyler Cain: 6-0, 6-0.
