HOW IT HAPPENED
-With 45 minutes in the books, neither Emerson nor Clark found the back of the net as the Lions outshot the Cougars, 4-1.
77": Emerson continued to pressure the Clark defense deep into the second half and were able to break through the back line to snap the scoreless tie. Larking carried the ball up the right and crossed a shot into the box, which was deflected off a Clark defender in front of the net. Johnston collected the ball and flicked the go-ahead goal into the right side for the 1-0 lead.
-After Emerson snagged the 1-0 lead, the Cougars sent a pair of shots towards Schaub, but were both turned away. Clark's final chance came on a shot by Jamie Stern, but it drifted to the left in the 89th minute.
-The Lions did not let the visitors get another shot off and captured the 1-0 victory.
