HOW IT HAPPENED

4": A mere four minutes passed in the opening half when Emerson got into the scoring mix. Lukoskie's initial shot was turned away by Sharnitzky as the ball made its way back into the box. Lukoskie collected the ball and was able to find the foot of Barragan-Shaw, whose shot past Sharnitzky's left lifted the Lions to the 1-0 lead.

38": Just past midfield, a pass from MacQuarrie made its way up to Bruce, who was running towards toward the goal and had a defender on her tail. Bruce made space and booted the second Lions' goal in to the upper left side.

39": On their next possession, Emerson gave themselves an insurance goal and tallied their third marker a minute later. Off a pass from Carlson, Righetti fired in the third goal within right post for the 3-0 lead.

40": Coast Guard entered the scoring mix a minute after Emerson tallied their third goal as Carleton beat Schaub to her left and cut the Lions' lead down to two at 3-1 going into the break.
