HOW IT HAPPENED
34": With 11 minutes to go in the first half, the Mount Holyoke defense committed a foul worthy enough for a penalty kick to which Emerson capitalized on. Slater squared up and beat Govea to give Emerson the 1-0 lead over the Lyons.
36": Two minutes later, Emerson got an unassisted insurance goal when Bruce booted the ball just over the fingertips of Govea. Bruce sent up two more shots before the half's end, but both were turned away by Govea as the score stood at 2-0.
-The Emerson defense only allowed Mount Holyoke three shots on goal through the second half, while the Lions sent nine shots Govea's way. Neither team found the back of the second within the last 45 minutes as Emerson snagged the 2-0 win.
