HOW IT HAPPENED

  • MIT jumped out to a quick 3-0 lead in the first 15 minutes, leaving the Lions with a big challenge early. The Lions were able to cut into the lead in the 1st half, but would enter halftime down 4-1. RJ Dziejma got the Lions on the board early and Phil Han added a goal late. The Lions had a few scoring opportunities late in the 2nf half when Shane Biathrow hit the crossbar on a header and Phil Han header in the 75th minute went wide.

2": MIT started the scoring early when Richter Brzeski netted the first of his two goals on the afternoon on a crossing pass from Peter Novoa.

3": MIT wasted little time when less than one minute later Rami Bikdash found the back of the net on a shot from the top of the box, giving the Engineers an early 2-0 lead

15": The Engineers padded their lead when Richter Brzeski scored his second goal of the afternoon on a free kick extending MIT's lead to 3-0

27": The Lions cut into the lead when RJ Dziejma capitalized on a failed attempt to clear the ball by MIT's goalkeeper. Dziejma ripped a shot from the top of the box to get the Lions on the board.

39": MIT answered 12 minutes later when Sebastian Simone sent a bicycle kick into the back of the net once again putting the Engineers up 4-1. This scoring chance came off of rebound after a diving save by Lions goalkeeper Jacob Ramer.

85": The Lions cut into the lead late when Phil Han beat the goalkeeper on a beautiful crossing pass from RJ Dziejma. This cut MIT's lead to 4-2 late in the 2nd half but the Engineers were able to hold on for the victory.
