BOSTON, Mass. (September 13, 2026) – Emerson College battled to a scoreless draw with Wittenberg University in its second match of the weekend in non-conference men's soccer action at Rotch Field today.
Emerson posted its third shutout of the season, with first year Lasse Bartsh-Erforth notching his first collegiate shutout in the Lions goal with two saves. The Lions were led by the strong defensive presence of seniors Daniel Bede and Ethan Minster with junior Jack Wasserman.
Senior Peter Adams preserved the shutout for Wittenberg with five stops.
Emerson had the best scoring chances in the contest starting with a big save from Adams with ten minutes to play in the first half on junior Adriano Gomez. Sophomore Carlo Carson opened the Lions second half scoring chances with a header off a corner two minutes in that was straight into Adams, who later charged off his line to smother a scoring chance for Emerson first year Daniel Santiago in the 56th minute.

Wittenberg nearly grabbed a late winner with its best scoring chance in the 87th minute when junior Asher Donahue had a half chance cleared off the Emerson goal line and then classmate Brendon Raggiunti fired the rebound over the crossbar.
Emerson (3-2-1, 0-0-0 NEWMAC) returns to action next Saturday when it opens New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) play by hosting Springfield College here at Rotch Field at 1 p.m. Wittenberg (3-0-1, 0-0-0 NCAC) hosts Earlham College on Wednesday at 4 p.m.
