The Lead: One goal by freshman Anna Swisher at the 48th minute was all the Emerson women's soccer team needed as the Lions edged out Springfield, 1-0, in its regular season finale. With the win, the Lions extended their win streak to four and snagged the No. 2 seed in the NEWMAC Tournament.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Despite Emerson outshooting Springfield, 9-2, through the first 45 minutes, the score remained in a 0-0 tie entering the half.
48': Three minutes into the second frame, Emerson struck with the game's first and only goal. It was at the 48th minutes that Swisher put in the unassisted game-winner past Normoyle for the 1-0 lead.
- Emerson heavily outshot Springfield in the second half as the defense did not allow Springfield a shot with the shots at 6-0.
