HOW IT HAPPENED
- The 1st half only saw 3 total shots with Emerson leading in that category 2-1. A pair of 2nd half goals from Grace Cosgrove and Brittney Righetti helped propel the Lions to a 2-0 victory.
39": Smith had a chance to get on the board with a free kick late in the 1st half, but Maggie Boyle's shot was turned away by Emerson's goalkeeper Amara Shaub keeping the game scoreless.
47": Emerson was able to break the scoreless tie early into the 2nd half when Grace Cosgrove headed a Madeline Khaw corner kick past the Smith goalkeeper giving the Lions a 1-0 lead.
78": The Lions tacked on an insurance goal late in the 2nf half when Brittney Righetti beat the Smith goalkeeper to the fat side of the net extending the lead to 2-0.
