The Lead: The freshmen led the way as both Ainslee MacQuarrie (Kensington, N.H.) and Sage Stack (Santa Rosa, Calif.) found the back of the net to push the Emerson women's soccer team to a 2-1 win in its season opener over Regis (Mass.) on Friday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
22": After a giveaway from Regis, Cosgrove took possession of the ball and played MacQuarrie through, who slotted past a sliding keeper for an opening goal that pushed the Lions to a 1-0 lead.
34": A driving run by Regis resulted in a shot and saw the ball bounce off the post. After junior Amanda Benavente (Boca Raton, Fla.) cleared it off the line, Gaynor found the ball and fired into the back of the net to level the score.
53": Stack found herself in a shooting position a few yards outside the box as her left footed strike flew past the diving Attridge and lifted the Lions to the 2-1 lead.
